One is to use the “Task Manager on the fly” feature. This is a new feature in Windows 10 that lets you see all of the tasks that are running at once, and then you can choose to have them stop or start. This is great for when you’re trying to figure out why a certain task is taking so long, or when you want to know which app is causing a delay. The other shortcut is to use the “Task Manager from the command prompt.” This will open up a command prompt window where you can type “task manager” and then hit enter. This will show all of the tasks that are currently running, as well as any that have been added since your last run of Task Manager.

  1. Open the Task Manager by pressing Windows key + R, and type taskmgr into the search bar.
  2. The Task Manager will open and you can see all of your currently running tasks by clicking on the three lines in the top left corner of the window.
  3. You can also right-click on a task and select “Stop” or “End” to stop it from running.
  4. If you want to view a list of all of your currently running tasks, click on the “Tasks” tab in the top left corner of the window and then click on any task you want to see information about (e.g., name, start time, duration, etc.).

Opening Task Manager in Windows 10

The first way is to open the Start Menu and type “Task Manager” into the search bar. Then, click on the “Task Manager” icon. The second way is to open the Settings app and then click on the “Task Manager” icon.

  1. If you love keyboard shortcuts, you can press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to exit the editor.

  2. To close a program, right-click on the program’s icon and select “Close.”

  3. To close all open programs, click on the “X” in the top left corner of the Windows Taskbar.

  4. To view all running programs, click on “Start,” then “All Programs.”

  5. Right-click on an open program and select “End Task.” ..

Taskmgr.exe is a Windows task manager that you can use to manage your tasks.

Nowadays, a lot of consumer computers have multiple CPU cores/threads. If you have certain applications that can utilize multiple cores and you want to check to make sure that the process load is actually being distributed, you can go to the Performance tab, click on CPU and then right-click and choose Change graph to.

Startup Impact

Task Manager in Windows 10 lets you see the “impact” that a startup process has on the system. This is very helpful to quickly figure out which startup programs are slowing down the boot up process.

Update Speed

You can change the default view in the Performance tab to show you the past 60 seconds by clicking on View, Update Speed and choosing from High, Normal or Low.

High will monitor over a 30-second time span and Low will monitor over a 4 minute time span. Low will also put less load on the machine when monitoring. The 4 minute time span is useful if you need to see the performance for any time frame longer than 60 seconds.

Network Stats

If you want to view network details for your Ethernet connection, you can right-click on the graph and choose View network details. ..
